BAPTISED INTO CHRIST'S DEATH AND RESURRECTION

(Romans 6:1-11)

All we who have been baptised into Christ, have been baptised into His death. For we were buried with Him, by means of Baptism into His death, in order that, just as Christ has risen from the dead by the glory of the Father, so we now walk with Him in newness of life. And, being united with Him in the likeness of His death, so are we to be united with Him in the likeness of his resurrection.

We know that our old self has been crucified with Him, in order that the body of sin may be destroyed in us, that we may no longer be slaves to sin; but alive to God for evermore.

Now, having died with Christ, we believe we shall also live with Him, knowing that He, having risen from the dead, now dies no more, and that death shall never again have dominion over Him. For the death that He died, He died to sin, once, for us; but the life that He lives, He lives unto God.

Thus, do we now consider ourselves, as dead to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
