ADULTERY - Biblical references

THE DIVINE COMMANDMENT
"You shall love the Lord your God with your whole heart, mind, soul and all your strength. And you shall love your neighbour as yourself." (Mark 12:30-31; Romans 13:10)

GOD IS ALWAYS TO GOVERN - NOTHING IS EVER TO BE GIVEN PLACE BEFORE HIM
He says: "Anyone who puts anyone or anything before Me is not worthy of Me." (Luke 14:26) "He has commanded His Commandments be kept most diligently." (Psalm 118:4)
Note: To break His Commandment is to place the cause of its breaking, ahead of Him, thereby invoking His displeasure, which unrepented, risks eternal hellfire. (Mark 9:42-47)

BE WATCHMEN - FOR ONE ANOTHER
Ezechiel 3:17-21; 33:1-20
"Son of man...When I say, the sinful man shall surely die, and you do NOT warn him, speaking to him that he be converted from his wicked way and live: the same sinful man shall die in his iniquity, but I will require his blood at your hand."
"But, if you DO give warning to the sinful man, and he be not converted from his wickedness and evil way: he shall indeed die in his iniquity, but you have delivered your own soul."

FORNICATION
1 Corinthians 6:18
"Every sin that a person does is outside their body; but who commits fornication, sins against their own body."

ADULTERY
The 6th OF THE 10 COMMANDMENTS
Exodus 20:14; Deuteronomy 5:18
"You shall NOT commit adultery."
"It is easier for heaven and earth to pass, than one tittle of the Law to fall." (Luke 16:17)

MATTHEW 19:4-6,9; Mark 10:6-12 & Luke 16:18
"From the beginning of the Creation, God made man, male and female.
For this cause, a man shall leave his father and mother; and shall cleave to his wife, and
THEY ARE NO LONGER TWO, BUT ONE FLESH.
What therefore, God has joined together, let NO MAN put asunder.
Whosoever puts away their spouse and marries another, commits adultery.
And whoever marries the one put away also commits adultery."

1 Corinthians 7:10-11 (St Paul - New Testament)
"To them who are married, the Lord commands, that the wife depart not from her husband. Should she depart, she must remain unmarried, or be reconciled to her husband."
And likewise, let not the husband put away his wife.

Jeremiah 23:14, 24 (Old Testament)
"I see the adulterers and the lying (approving) prophets who strengthen the hands of the sinners that they should not cease from their sinful deeds. They have become to Me as Sodom and the inhabitants of Gomorrah. Shall I not see them?" "Do I not fill Heaven and Earth?" (Acts 17:28)

CUSTODY OF THE EYES
Matthew 5:28
"Whosoever shall look upon a woman to lust after her, has already committed adultery with her in his heart."
